Mold and the Poison Plot

I have been meaning to read this book for ages and so pleased I finally got around to it. Lorraine has created a wonderful character in Mold, with a fantastically distinctive voice, which I am a huge fan of. From the very first sentence you can’t help caring for this big-hearted ‘outsider’ who can smell trouble coming a mile off, thanks to his extraordinary nose. When his beloved Aggie is accused of poisoning the king and thrown into the dungeons, Mold has to survive betrayal in order to prove her innocence. Gorgeous olfactory tale that will have you rooting for Mold from the very start.
